Join us for an unforgettable weekend of aviation, competition, and camaraderie at the Great Lakes STOL 2025! This fly-in camp-out event welcomes spectators, aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and STOL contestants to experience an exciting weekend of flying and competition.
Event Details:
Camping: Aircraft underwing camping available with required facilities. Limited electricity, bring generators if needed. RV and camper spots available.
Amenities: Multiple restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance.
Food: Donation-based breakfast Sunday by the Chesaning Sportsplane Association and an on-field food truck.
Flying & Practice: Daily practice and flying at the airport with available judges.

Friday “STOL Camp,” this day is dedicated to hands-on instruction, skill-building exercises. The day includes in-depth discussions on aircraft performance, technique demonstrations, and personalized feedback, followed by an optional practice session to apply what you've learned. This is a day of growth, camaraderie, and preparation—perfect for pilots looking to enhance their STOL capabilities.
Saturday:
Get ready to embark on an unforgettable Saturday. Late morning, we have three exciting fly-outs planned that will showcase the stunning landscapes of Michigan. One flight will take you on a tour of local grass strips, highlighting both charted and uncharted fields that make our state a pilot's paradise. Another fly-out will explore some thrilling uncharted and off-field flying opportunities, ensuring an experience like no other, with delicious late lunch stops included along the way. As evening approaches, prepare for more excitement as we venture to local hidden fields for some backcountry fun. To top off the day, join us for a mass fly-out to Joe Lee's Crosswind Café, just 10 miles south of Chesaning, where great food and camaraderie await!
