Join us at Great Lakes STOL Camp, an abbreviated yet highly effective version of our private STOL instruction. Whether you're new to short takeoff and landing (STOL) techniques or looking to refine your skills, this session will provide invaluable hands-on training to help you become a more confident and capable pilot.
What to Expect:
🛩 Ground Instruction:
Learn how to determine the proper approach speed and numbers for your specific aircraft.
Master techniques for controlling your approach, achieving precise spot landings, and improving takeoff performance.
Understand weight and balance and how it affects your aircraft’s performance and handling.
🛩 In-Flight Coaching & Mentorship:
Qualified pilots and instructors will be available to ride along in your aircraft, offering coaching and real-time feedback.
Practice using your newfound skills with guidance from experienced mentors.
There’s no charge or obligation—our goal is to build a stronger, more skilled STOL community. We simply ask that you consider joining the Spam Can class or participating in one of our flyouts. Donations to support Great Lakes STOL are always appreciated but never required.
Come, learn, and enjoy!
Before the flying action kicks off, join us as we set up the landing markers and get the airport ready for a weekend of STOL excitement. This is more than just preparation—it’s the start of the Great Lakes STOL experience. On-airport camping will be available, complete with a campfire where we’ll swap stories, share tips, and build the friendships that make this community so special. Whether you're a seasoned STOL pilot or just getting started, this is your chance to connect with like-minded aviators and be part of what Great Lakes STOL is all about.
